The McData 6140 and loop devices

The McData 6140 and loop devices

We have STK 9840A tape drives, which are loop devices. I have a new McData 6140 switch, which does not allow these tape drives to light up/login to the fabric. Any ideas?

The McData 6140 does not natively support a loop device as it does not have loop ports, thus loop devices need to be attached to an edge or border switch that supports loop devices. If you can upgrade your tape drives to support fabric login instead of loop that would be of help.
