ADIC upgrades tape library
Advanced Digital Information Corp. (ADIC) announced an upgrade to its Scalar 100 enterprise tape library. Key upgrade features, delivered with new library firmware, include embedded library partitioning, and integrated support for tape drives and media of different generations. The new features will be offered initially with libraries deploying the new LTO-3 generation tape drives. The ADIC Scalar 100 upgrade will be available in April 2005.

McData/QLogic build blade switch for IBM
McData Corp. announced its blade server switch module, codeveloped with QLogic, which will provide connectivity to IBM eServer BladeCenter users. The switch modules will come with enterprise features, including open exchange of management data, zoning, partitioning and security.

Nexsan acquires CAS provider
Nexsan Technologies announced an agreement to acquire privately held ILM software provider, AESign Evertrust, in a cash and stock deal of an undisclosed amount. Nexsan will integrate Evertrust's ILM, CAS and compliance capabilities into its storage systems, and will continue Evertrust's OEM relationships with optical and tape system vendors.

IBM qualifies Netex HyperIP
NetEx announced that its HyperIP appliance, which provides application acceleration for applications using TCP transport services, has passed compatibility testing with qualified IBM storage
