ADIC library supports SMI-S ADIC announced that its flagship enterprise tape library, the Scalar i2000, has been certified by the Storage Networking Industry Association under the Storage Management Initiative Specification (SMI-S) standard. SMI-S support means that IT departments using any storage resource management tool that supports the specification's tape library profiles can discover and manage its Scalar i2000 libraries in any location. The ADIC Scalar i2000 is the first tape library to announce this certification.
U.K. financial firms hold BC exercise Some 80 firms across the U.K., together with the Bank of England, HM Treasury, the Financial Services Authority and consultants KPMG and Crisis Solutions, participated in a country-wide business continuity (BC) exercise. PMC-Sierra, StorLink work on low-cost NAS StorLink Semiconductors today announced PMC-Sierra Inc. has licensed its Centroid NAS technology for simple, low-cost network storage and networked entertainment applications. The new Multi-Service Processor (MSP) devices -- MSP2200, MSP2202, MSP2204 and MSP2206 -- will be added to PMC's current line of Voice over Internet Protocol products, and are aimed at home networks.
