Dynamic Solutions introduces DSI9303-D and DSI9983-S96 data deduplication products
Dynamic Solutions International (DSI) introduced a new virtual tape library (VTL) with a data deduplication family of products -- the DSI9303-D VTL and the DSI9983-S96 Enterprise Edition. Deduplication appliances can reduce storage footprints, and allow companies to keep weeks or months worth of data on disk without tape-based concerns.

The DSI9303-D makes industry standard high-speed disks look like VTLs to backup servers attached to an iSCSI or Fibre Channel (FC) storage area network (SAN). But no changes are made to existing backup software, which preserves backup policies and the current knowledge of the IT staff.
The DSI9983-S96 Enterprise Edition supports one-to-one and many-to-one replication configurations to enable tape infrastructure consolidation at a centralized data site. It also aggregates the data into a clustered repository of globally unique data, allowing data from remote sites to be exported to a physical tape at the central site, meaning tape can be entirely eliminated at remote sites.
