STORServer Console provides several management functions, including the ability for users to schedule and run Tivoli administrative tasks for storage pool functions, create data retention reports and manage volumes.
The product offers real-time reporting of TSM events, including failures of a TSM server, client backup, and system hardware, as well as overall TSM database health, according to STORServer.
Customers can use SSC to manage data and retention, but reduce the amount of time users have to spend manually dealing with data, according to the company. (On its website, STORServer said that customers spend less than 30 minutes per day having to work with SSC.)
The company said a 45-day demo of the new Console software is available on STORServer's website.
The retail version of the product can be purchased as a stand-alone offering for Tivoli users, and is offered as an upgrade to existing users.
