The offering will also be compatible with Tivoli Storage Manager v6.3 as a remote system, said IBM.
IBM said that Tivoli CDP is designed to run in the background with minimal user intervention, and can work with multiple backup and replication targets, including local disk, web, file servers and NAS devices.
Tivoli can also perform point-in-time restores, backs up online changed files and set backup priorities for different kinds of data, as well as schedule backup windows, IBM said.
The electronic version of the new Tivoli CDP will be available March 16, with a media version to be released on April 20, according to IBM.
