ProStor Systems ships InfiniVault Model 5 removable disk appliance for SMBs

ProStor Systems announced its InfiniVault Model 5 removable disk appliance for SMBs. The ProStor InfiniVault Model 5 is an integrated storage appliance in a tower design with five slots for RDX removable disks and a 1.8 TB file area that can manage 250 million files. Using 500 GB RDX removable disk cartridges, ProStor InfiniVault Model 5 is able to keep 2.5 TB (5 TB compressed) of data online (in RDX removable disk cartridges).

The InfiniVault Model 5 costs approximately $14,995, and ProStor dropped the price of its entry-level Model 3 to $9,995. The company also reduced the price of its expandable, rack mounted systems the Model 30 ($29,995) and Model 100 ($69,995).

Barracuda Networks launches local and cloud-based data backup service in Europe

Barracuda Networks Inc. announced the European version of its Barracuda Backup Service, a local and cloud-based data backup and disaster recovery service. The Barracuda Backup Service comes with backup software to natively provide application backups of Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server and Windows System State. Barracuda Backup Service pricing includes a one-time hardware fee for the Barracuda Backup Server and a monthly subscription to the Barracuda Backup Service plans.

Decho announces partnership with Vodafone

International mobile telecom company Vodafone is developing a range of cloud-based PC backup services for businesses and consumers based on EMC Corp.'s Mozy.

Overland Storage announces new NEO tape libraries

Overland Storage Inc. announced the availability of the new NEOS family of automated tape libraries, which are aimed at SMBs and distributed network environments. The NEOS line includes the NEO 200S, a compact 2u model that provides up to 38.4 TB of capacity, and the NEO 400S, an expandable library that has 76.8 TB of capacity in a 4u form factor. Overland's NEO 200S comes in two models: a one-drive, 12-cartridge autoloader and a one- or two-drive, 24-cartridge library. The NEO 400S is available with up to four tape drives and up to 48 cartridges. The NEOS family is available now from Overland's partners worldwide for a starting MSRP of $3,995.

StorageCraft announces new pricing and delivery options for ShadowProtect IT Edition

StorageCraft Technology Corp. announced new pricing, licensing and delivery options for StorageCraft ShadowProtect IT Edition, part of its ShadowProtect line of disk-based backup, disaster recovery, data protection and system migration solutions. The new pricing option lets solution providers and storage administrators buy licenses of ShadowProtect IT Edition on a per-project basis. In addition to annual subscriptions, they can now purchase ShadowProtect IT Edition for an annual, quarterly, monthly or a two-week period.
