Druvaa Software updates flagship product, releases inSync v3.1

Druvaa Software updated its flagship product, Druvaa inSync to a newer version of inSync 3.1. Druvaa inSync is known for its laptop data backup software, which uses data deduplication technology to back up critical data. InSync version 3.1 brings more features to the line including: managed client updates, bandwidth and CPU scheduling, improvements for full PC backups and synchronizing on log-off and shutdown. The newer version also offers WAN optimization, continuous data protection (CDP) and source-based data deduplication.

SafeData announced SafeData Vault, a new backup and recovery appliance for both IBM System i and Windows environments. SafeData Vault allows customers with local and/or remote backups to recover data from their on-site vault as well as provide off-site data centers. SafeData Vault also provides a replicated set of storage in an off-site location and quick data recovery.


Novosoft announces backup software for Windows 7

Novosoft announced its release of a new Windows 7-certified version of Handy Backup, a data backup and disaster recovery (DR) software. Created for Windows computers and Windows Server-based enterprise networks, Handy Backup creates one-time and scheduled jobs for data backup and stores it to local or remote servers.

Amazon introduces new cloud-based database service

Amazon Web Services announced Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), a new offering of a cloud-based database service based on Sun Microsystems Inc.'s MySQL open-source database software. Amazon RDS works with tools and applications that businesses use with their existing MySQL software, and performs database administration tasks such as setup, provisioning, patch management and data backup.
