Hot backups on SQL Server

How can we get info to do hot backups on Microsoft SQL Server? We've found many documents and scripts for Oracle, but not for MS SQL Server. Can you suggest how to do this or where to find information or scripts?

Starting in version 7.0, SQL Server supports online (hot) backups as part of the standard BACKUP command. It does cause some contention with user operations. But the users can continue working, and it doesn't force the database to go offline.

There are plenty of sample Transact-SQL scripts in the SQL Server documentation. But if you want specialty scripts, then my choice is SQLServerCentral. They have an entire section of their script library dedicated to backup and recovery scripts.
