Spectra Logic announces Spectra T680 tape library

Spectra Logic has announced the availability of the Spectra T680 tape library for large enterprises and SMBs. The T680 is the only library on the market today to store a full petabyte of data in a single rack. The T680 provides two to three times more storage density per square foot of floor space, and consumes approximately half the power of competing midrange libraries, in matching LTO-4 configurations.

Spectra Logic has extended its BlueScale software to include the new T680. BlueScale includes a single point of management for encryption with key management; proactive hardware and software health indicators to eliminate backup failures; power usage reporting; remote visibility with BlueScale Vision internal web camera; and library partitioning.

ADrive releases cross-platform online backup client

ADrive announced the release of ADrive Desktop, a desktop backup client designed to simplify backup and recovery tasks for Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems. ADrive Desktop allows backup and restore of files directly from multiple computers to a customer's ADrive account, consolidating all of their files to a single online location for ease of use.

Bus-Tech certifies Quantum's DXi disk backup products

Bus-Tech Inc., a provider of virtual tape products for mainframe environments, announced the interoperability of its Mainframe Data Library (MDL) with Quantum's DXi7500 disk-based backup and replication system. The combined solution lets users take advantage of Quantum's deduplication technology and provide data centers with a single backup vehicle for mainframe and open-system server environments.

Druvaa adds new capabilities to inSync laptop backup

Druvaa announced the general availability of its inSync enterprise laptop backup v3 for Windows. Features such bare-metal restore and over 300% performance improvement for Outlook PST files have been added.

Its flagship Druvaa inSync product features point-in-time restores, and patent-pending deduplication technology to increase backup speeds.

Vembu Technologies launches backup and DR software for educational institutions

Vembu Technologies announced the launch of its latest backup software specifically designed for the education market called the StoreGrid Education Edition. The company is offering free 30-day trial of the product all educational institutions.

StoreGrid Education Edition is designed for server backup solution for on-campus disk-to-disk (D2D) backups, with optional offsite replication capabilities. The software is suited for colleges, universities, K-12 and other educational institutions.
