FarStone releases Total Backup Recovery 7 for SMBs

FarStone Technology released a new data backup and recovery product, Total Backup Recovery 7 Suite. Total Backup Recovery 7 works to centralize data backup and recovery management for SMBs, providing them with protection from data loss.

Total Backup Recovery 7 is compatible with Windows 7 and allows enterprise data storage administrators to monitor data backup operations locally and remotely. Other features include continuous data protection (CDP), universal restores, incremental backups and bare-metal restores.

Cortex releases new BackupAssist product for Hyper-V backup processes for SMBs

Cortex I.T. released a new BackupAssist product for Microsoft Hyper-V, which works to automate data protection functions for Windows Hyper-V products, hoping to make Hyper-V easier to use for SMBs. The BackupAssist product for Hyper-V requires BackupAssist v 5.4 and BackupAssistVM Granular Restore Console, making the total price $498.

Novosoft releases new version of data backup product, Handy Backup 6.5

Novosoft released a new version of its data backup product Handy Backup. Handy Backup is a data backup and disaster recovery (DR) product designed for computers working under the Windows Operating Systems. It has two editions for data backups in home PCs and two editions for corporate data backups. Handy Backup 6.5's new features include a differential backup engine and improvements in data indexing algorithms.

HP and McAfee team up to protect SMB data storage arrays

McAfee Inc., a data security provider, announced that it has teamed up with Hewlett-Packard (HP) Co. to provide its McAfee Total Protection Service as a pre-installed feature on HP's StorageWorks X500 Data Vault storage arrays.
StorageWorks X500 Data Vault is designed for data storage, security and sharing for SMBs. It runs on Microsoft Windows Home Server and provides automated data backup for up to 10 PCs and Macs on the network. It comes with the online SecurityCenter and also uses a software-as-a-service (SaaS) framework to provide protection from viruses.
