ExaGrid announces integration of deduplication product with NetBackup

ExaGrid Systems Inc. announced the integration of its Disk Backup with Deduplication System with Symantec NetBackup's OpenStorage (OST) program. The integration between ExaGrid and Symantec offers users a faster and easily managed data backup option. With the new integration, customers will benefit from the following features: Quicker installation, faster recovery times, shorter backup windows, simpler disaster recovery and unified control and tracking of all copies of data with the NetBackup interface.

CionSystems releases new data backup and recovery product, Active Directory Recovery

CionSystems Inc. announced the release of CionSystems Active Directory (AD) Recovery, a Web-based data backup and recovery product that offers quick data restoration and multiple domain recovery. Features of Active Directory Recovery include: the ability to restore entire domains or individual objects and attributes; can undo unintentional changes or undelete deleted objects; online recovery of AD, System State and Group Policy data; can schedule automated full data backups during off-peak hours; and no system restart is required.

Siber Systems releases data backup/sync product, GoodSync Enterprise

Siber Systems Inc. announced the release of GoodSync Enterprise, a business-ready version of its file synchronization and data backup utility. GoodSync Enterprise is designed to automatically synchronize employee computer files that are local, remote or mobile, and it can do this across local area networks (LANs), wide-area networks (WANs), FTP/SFTP and WebDAV. With GoodSync Enterprise, storage administrators can limit the functions available to users, including disallowing them to perform synchronization over the Internet. Also, data recovery and restores are simpler to do because folders and files are backed up on GoodSync Enterprise in their native format.

AvePoint announces its DocAve Backup and Restore for SharePoint provides beta support for SharePoint 2010

AvePoint announced that its DocAve Backup and Restore for SharePoint tool provides beta support for SharePoint 2010. DocAve Backup and Restore was designed for organizations who need total data protection for their Microsoft SharePoint 2010 instances. To ensure this, DocAve does the following: synchronous data backup and recovery of entire SharePoint environments, full backups of SharePoint content, unique scheduling to align backup plans with business needs, automatic detection of new SharePoint content, and performance of backups and full integration with cloud storage providers.

Overland Storage offers rebate program

Overland Storage Inc. launched the NEO Upgrade and Save Cash Back Program. With this program, customers can receive cash rebates up to $12,000 when they upgrade their tape drive technologies to the faster and higher capacity NEO LTO-5 tape drives. Upgrading to LTO-5 increases storage capacity and data transfer rates and well as improve the security of data with features such as write-once, read many (WORM) and data encryption. If a customer upgrades to LTO-4 technology, they will receive $500 cash back per add-on drive purchased. If a customer upgrades to LTO-5 technology, they will receive $1,000 cash back per add-on drive purchased.

Paragon Software introduces Virtualization Manager 2010

Paragon Software introduced its Virtualization Manager 2010, a product that provides data migration for corporate Windows environments. Virtualization Manager 2010 was designed to be used by system administrators and other IT professionals. It is made up of several different technologies including Paragon Adaptive Restore, Paragon VIM and Connect VD. Virtualization Manager 2010 supports any Windows Operating System and major virtual machines (VMs). It also allows any type of data migration in it, can recover the OS startup ability if it has unsuccessful virtualization by a third party tool and it can choose any destination to create virtual disks, including a network share. Virtualization Manager 2010 is available now through Paragon Software.
