Nine Technology is focused on online data backup and recovery, and will release its product, Powered by Nine at the beginning of May. Powered by Nine is an online backup and recovery product that includes the following: a data protection service, block-level data deduplication and scalability.

Unitrends announces certification with the Ubuntu operating environment

Unitrends announced that all of its data backup appliances have been certified with the Ubuntu operating environment. Unitrends' products can now support Ubuntu 9.10 Netbook Remix, Ubuntu 9.10 Desktop Edition and Ubuntu 9.10 Server Edition.
