Trying to locate a file you need to restore?

When the time comes that a file needs to be restored from backup, it can often take as long to figure out which tape its on as to perform the restore operation. Summary log files can be useful in determining this information quickly. For example, the following command runs a Perl script named findit, which displays the tapes on which the specified file is stored.

C:> perl findit.pl urgent.dat
(urgent.dat = filename)
